Authors, Art, Sweets And Trees At Yule Revel

Matinicus chronicler Eva Murray will be one of nine Maine authors signing books during Yule Revel.
November 30, 2011— Penobscot Marine Museum will be the center of activities during Yule Revel, Searsport's holiday celebration on Friday, December 9. A holiday tree lighting and caroling are planned, along with a multiple-author book signing, free refreshments and more. The event runs 4:30 to 7:15 p.m.
The town's official holiday tree will be lit on The Crescent to the sound of caroling. Holidaymakers can warm up in the admission center with hot chocolate, cider and cookies donated by Bangor Savings Bank, and preview the museum's winter exhibit The Circus Comes to Town, featuring circus art, photography, memorabilia, and the Bex Brothers Circus collection of scale circus models.
Also in the museum's admission center will be a book signing, featuring nine Maine authors:
Gerry Boyle, Port City Black and White and Port City Shakedown (mystery)
Nancy Griffin, Making Whoopies (cookbook)
Fran Hodgkins, Andre the Famous Harbor Seal and Between the Tides (juvenile)
Loretta Krupinski, Looking Astern: An Artist's View of Maine's Historic Working Waterfront (nonfiction/art)
Eva Murray, Well Out to Sea (essays)
Jim Nichols, Hull Creek (fiction)
Angeli Perrow, Captain's Castaway and Lighthouse Dog to the Rescue (juvenile)
Ann Williamson, Maine Windjammer Cruises Cookbook (cookbook)
Capt. Ray Williamson, Keeping the Tradition Alive (nonfiction/sailing)
Downtown retailers are expected to remain open late. At 7 p.m., the Penobscot Bay Singers will perform a Christmas concert in the Searsport Congregational Church at 8 Church St.
