Location

The Penobscot Marine Museum is centrally located. Stay in historic Searsport, a small town steeped in maritime tradition. Browse the shops and galleries. Spend the day at the museum. Enjoy a picnic at the Searsport ocean front park while the kids play on the playground. Stay overnight at one of our local bed and breakfast or motels located along Route 1. The Museum is conveniently located along US Route One (on the corner of Church Street & Main Street) in the center of Searsport. Be sure to look for our sign and mast in the front park!

Searsport is approximately 5 miles north of Belfast, 25 miles north of Camden, 50 miles east of Augusta, 35 miles south of Bangor and 50 mile south of Bar Harbor.

By Sea

Any member who wishes to visit the Museum by sea is invited to use our Searsport Harbor mooring (#55). To make a mooring reservation, please contact Wayne Hamilton, Searsport Harbormaster, at 207-548-2722 or on VHF channels 9, 10, 71 or 78. Parking

Parking is in designated lots on the Museum grounds as well as street parking. Handicap parking is available.
