Stephen Phillips Memorial Library

The library serves as the museum's research center, providing access to books, manuscripts, photographs, nautical charts, maps, and boat plans. In addition to our strong collections in maritime history, with an emphasis on mid-coast Maine, we also have very important collections in Maine history and genealogy.

Research hours: The library is open Thursdays 9:00 a.m. to noon and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Fridays 9:00 a.m. to noon. Please call 207-548-2529 or email to confirm. The library is located at 9 Church Street, Searsport, and the reading room is handicapped-accessible.

To check Phillips Library's catalogued holdings, you may search the SOLAR Catalog database. We are one of two libraries in the database from Waldo County.

Fees: There is a flat $25.00 charge for inquiries that take more than a few minutes to answer. Photocopies are 25 cents each, and may be charged for after completion of the inquiry.
